My dad’s car just died
forget comicon, forget artist alley, this is really bad.
My dad works at walmart on nightshift, 12 hour shifts, 5 days a week. He is a super fucking hard worker and the best person in the world and our car is shitty and old and has broken down multiple times but this time it’s serious because the battery just died, full on, needs to be replaced. If my dad takes more than a week off work for this legitimate emergency he will lose his job. We live paycheck to paycheck, (fuck capitalism,) and he NEEDS transportation to get to work everyday. There are no buses in our area, we can’t afford uber, and it’s an hour by bike. In the snow. In the dark. In a shitty ass neighborhood where his oblivious ass could get mugged.
So I fucking hate to do this but it’s an emergency. He can’t lose his job and we have no fall back cushion. I’ve been saving up money to get a table at comicon this year and every single cent of that is going towards the car battery, but we’re still $200 short. (fuck capitalism.) I am not gonna be one of those people who begs for money on the internet but I AM opening emergency art commissions:
